- Workout entries: Exercise descriptions and calories burned that you manually log.
- Saved foods: Custom food items you create for quick logging.
- Daily calorie and macro goals: Targets you set within the app.

How We Use Your Information
- AI Processing: When you use the AI-powered food logging feature, your text descriptions or photos are sent to a third-party AI service (OpenAI) to estimate calorie and macro content. This data is processed in real time and is not stored by the AI provider beyond what is necessary to fulfill the request.
- Local Storage: All of your food logs, workout entries, saved foods, and goals are stored locally on your device using SwiftData. We do not upload this data to any server.
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored locally on your device. We do not operate servers or databases that store your personal information. Your data remains on your device and is protected by your device's built-in security features, including encryption and passcode/biometric locks.
Third-Party Services
The app uses the following third-party service:
- OpenAI API: Used to process natural language meal descriptions and food photos for calorie and macro estimation. Text and images sent to OpenAI are subject to OpenAI's Privacy Policy. We use the API in a way that does not allow OpenAI to use your data for training purposes.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with third parties, except as described above for AI processing functionality. We do not use any advertising or analytics SDKs.
Camera and Photo Library Access
The app requests access to your camera and photo library solely for the purpose of photographing or selecting food images for AI-powered calorie estimation. Photos are sent to the AI service for processing and are not stored on any server.
Children's Privacy
Quick Calories is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Your Rights
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over your information. You can:
- Delete individual entries at any time by swiping to delete within the app.
- Delete all app data by uninstalling the app from your device.
