Terms of Service
Effective Date: March 5, 2026
Welcome to QuickCalories. By downloading or using the QuickCalories iOS application ("the app"), you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using QuickCalories, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
2. Description of Service
QuickCalories is an AI-powered calorie and nutrition tracking app for iOS. It allows you to log meals, track macros, log workouts, and view your nutrition history. When using the AI food logging feature, your input (text descriptions or photos) is sent to OpenAI's GPT-4 API, which returns a structured JSON response with estimated calorie and macro data.
3. Your Data
Local storage only: All of your food logs, workout entries, saved foods, and nutrition goals are stored exclusively on your device. QuickCalories does not collect, transmit, or store your personal data on any server operated by us.
AI processing: When you use the AI food logging feature, your text or photo input is sent to OpenAI for processing. OpenAI returns a JSON payload with nutritional estimates, which is then saved locally on your device. We do not retain this data on our end. OpenAI's handling of this data is governed by OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
4. Use of the App
You agree to use QuickCalories only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
- Use the app in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise extract the source code of the app.
- Use the app to submit false, misleading, or harmful content to the AI service.
5. AI-Generated Content
Calorie and macro estimates provided by the AI are for informational purposes only. They are not medical advice and may not be perfectly accurate. QuickCalories is not a substitute for professional nutritional or medical guidance. You should not rely solely on the app for dietary decisions related to health conditions.
6. Third-Party Services
The app integrates with OpenAI's API to provide AI-powered food analysis. Your use of this feature is also subject to OpenAI's Terms of Use. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or policies of OpenAI's services.
7. Intellectual Property
All content, trademarks, logos, and software within QuickCalories are the property of QuickCalories or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the app without prior written permission.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
QuickCalories is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, QuickCalories and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the app, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
